GATE Testing Criteria

The GATE testing criteria is as follows:

 

Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT): (875 or greater on CST’s)

  • 3rd through 7th grade English speaking students who scored a combined scaled score of 875 or greater on their 2013 ELA and Mathematics CST’s qualify to take the OLSAT.
  • OLSAT testing dates and times are posted on the CUSD GATE website under Testing Criteria and Info.
  • The Criteria Based OLSAT will be administered at Niguel Hills Middle School on the following Saturdays:
    • January 25, 2014, Last names beginning with the letters A-K
    • February 8, 2014, Last names beginning with the letters L-Z
    • February 22, 2014, Make-Up OLSAT

 

Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT): (770 or greater on CST’s)

  • 3rd  through 7th grade English Learner (EL)  or Redesignated EL students who scored a combined scaled score of 770 or greater on their 2013 ELA and Mathematics CST’s qualify to take the NNAT.

 

Two Way Immersion Students:

  • 3rd  through 7th grade  students enrolled in a CUSD two-way language immersion program*:
    • 3rd through 7th grade two-way immersion English speaking students who scored a combined scaled score of 850 or greater on their 2013 ELA and Mathematics CST’s qualify to take the (OLSAT).
    • 3rd through 7th grade  two-way immersion EL or Redesignated EL students who scored a combined scaled score of 770 or greater on their 2013 ELA and Mathematics CST’s qualify to take the NNAT.
  • Both the OLSAT and NNAT will be administered at two-way immersion schools this fall/winter.
